Cloud Nothings – Attack on Memory

8½ / 10

I’ve been a huge Cloud Nothings fan since I first heard them almost 3 years ago. But I’d be lying if I said I could take another album of lo-fi pop punk. Thank god Cloud Nothings pulled a big 180 on Attack on Memory. This LP is harsh and angry, while still sounding raw thanks to Steve Alibini’s production. Cloud Nothings recall 90s emo and post-hardcore and blend it with their already defined sound. Few bands have the guts to change this much. Few records will blow you away like this.
