KZUU Top 30: 9/9/11

Our new DJs are amazing! Not only have their first shows been incredible, but they’ve been playing all the hits and all of the underground favorites. Our second Top 30 of the semester is the strongest and most well-rounded that we’ve had in a long time. As expected, last week’s Band of the Week Balam Acab comes in at #1 with his incredible debut Wander / Wonder. But… he tied with two other fantastic artists for the top spot: Chrome Sparks also racked up the plays with his awesome new EP My <3, and Ricky Eat Acid side-project Teen Suicide also charted at the top with his lo-fi doo-wop jams. Other notable charters: Fool’s Gold coming in at #5 on their first week in rotation. Captured Track’s continuing to make an appearance on the charts, this time with garage rock act Widowspeak at #7. And PNW twee-folk group The Terrordactyls peak this week at #9.
